VINTAGE STILL ALIVE
The owner of this house knows everything about Polish design and her book ‘Start to love design’ is just a small sample of this knowledge. It introduces the beauty of ordinary objects that have been our everyday companions for years, often so popular that they are overlooked or rejected as relics of the dark communist times.
Beata Bochińska, apart from being an art historian by profession, is also a passionate collector. Shelves and drawers from the ‘50s and ‘60s are full of various objects – the largest part of the collection consists of porcelain, glass, porcelite, furniture and fabrics. They are not, however, treated only as exhibits, they are actual everyday use objects. Her husband Jarek, a mathematician, helps to develop, catalog and sort Beata’s dynamically growing collection.
We invite you to explore the extraordinary world of seemingly ordinary objects.
