FALL IN LOVE WITH SCANDINAVIA
INTERIOR DESIGN / PHOTOGRAPHY / STYLING
SCANDINAVIAN MOOD

This interior was created out of love for Scandinavian design, which fills the private and professional life of Anna Kupis – the owner of the Scandinavian Living showroom in Warsaw/PL.

The apartment from the ‘90s required a thorough reconstruction. At ninety square meters, it was necessary to redesign the layout of the rooms and to create three bedrooms, a living area with a kitchenette, dressing room, bathroom and toilet.

In addition, the apartment had an unusual, broken layout, which was in conflict with the minimalist and clean interior forms in the Scandinavian style. It was difficult to find the optimal layout without demolishing most of the walls. A large part of the slants were straightened out, and the daytime, open part of the flat was created in the place of the former corridors.

The deadline for design and interior finishing was very short – less than four months!

We decided on a limited palette of finishing materials, bleached oak planks on the floor, simple cement tiles. The white of the walls in some places has been broken with a concrete structure. The minimalist interior has been arranged with classics of Scandinavian design.

In the center of the daytime open part there is a gray Muuto sofa, next to it a Mantis floor lamp by DCW éditions and an iconic CH25 armchair designed by Hans J. Wegner.

The system of Stacked simple cubes by Muuto looks just great under the TV.

The bedroom has been decorated with natural fabrics in shades of gray and powder pink. The bed, cushions, curtains come from the Swedish company HIMLA, a linen bedspread in powder pink color is the Polish brand Lumio. Instead of a separate dressing room, we planned a wall of wardrobes in the bedroom, before them a mirror by Mira Swedese stood.

The heart of the house has become a nut table, above it a lamp GUBI, around the iconic Wishbone chairs.

In the son’s room, the modular shelving system by String is a great solution.
